What does this tool do?
The Apprenticeship Sponsor Finder helps you find employers that have sponsored apprenticeships in the past. You'll find contact information to help you connect with employers and ask about current or future opportunities.
What are apprenticeships?
Apprenticeships are paid positions that combine on-the-job training and related classroom instruction in which workers learn the practical and theoretical aspects of a highly skilled occupation. They can be found in all industries, from traditional sectors like Construction and Manufacturing to emerging sectors like Energy and Health Care.
Every state has a state agency that regulates apprenticeships. Those agencies can provide valuable information about the way apprenticeships works in each state. You can find contact information for those agencies using the Apprenticeship Finder.
How do I get started?
Get started by entering an occupation or the name of an apprenticeship and a location.
What can I do with these results?
You can contact apprenticeship sponsors to ask about current or future openings. If details about apprenticeships in your state are not listed, contact one of the offices listed for your state to learn more.
Some states provide details about apprenticeship sponsors through their own state-specific website. This Finder provides links to websites if states have them. You can contact a state’s office(s) that regulate apprenticeships to learn more.
Does this data show job openings or list available apprenticeships?
No, this list of apprenticeship sponsors is not a list of openings. If a company or organization is listed as an apprenticeship sponsor, that’s because they have hired (or “sponsored”) one or more apprentices. To learn about current or future openings for new apprenticeships, contact the listed sponsors and ask if they have or know of current openings.
Why aren’t there any apprenticeships listed in my state?
Not all states provide detailed apprenticeship information to the U.S. Department of Labor, which supplies the data to CareerOneStop. If you don't see details about apprenticeships in your state, use the list of state offices at the bottom of the page to contact an office and learn more.
Where does this information come from?
Many states provide details about apprenticeship sponsors to CareerOneStop. Those listings are available in this tool. Unfortunately, the list of apprenticeship sponsors is not a list of openings. If a company or organization is listed as an apprenticeship sponsor, that’s because they recently hired (or “sponsored”) one or more apprentices. To learn about current or future openings for new apprenticeships, contact the listed sponsors directly.
The Apprenticeship Finder combines different kinds of data, from different sources.

- Contact information for apprenticeship offices in each state also come from the US DOL Office of Apprenticeships.
- Information about state websites offering apprenticeship information is compiled and maintained by CareerOneStop and exclusively available on the CareerOneStop site.
