Purpose To financially assist deserving children and spouses of current or former United States Army personnel in their pursuit of higher education.

Qualifications Applicants must be sons or daughters of regular active duty, active duty Reserve, or active duty National Guard U.S. Army members in good standing, OR be spouses of serving enlisted regular active duty, active duty Reserve, or active duty National Guard U.S. Army members in good standing, OR be sons or daughters of former U.S. Army members who received an honorable discharge or medical discharge, or who were killed while serving in the U.S. Army; be high school seniors, high school graduates, or registered as undergraduate students at an accredited college or post high school vocational/technical institution; Have a 2.0 grade point average on a 4 point system; be a U.S. citizen; Not have reached their 24th birthday by the application deadline date in the year they apply if they are a child of an Army member; Not have previously earned a bachelor's degree from a college or university.
Criteria Selection process is very competitive; college level students are encouraged to include high school leadership activities and other information in order to enhance chances of selection.

To Apply Applicants must be submit online application form; a list of information for you to pull together prior to starting your application: parent or Spouse Proof of Service - Statement of Good Service for active duty or Form DD214 for veteran; High School Transcript; College Transcript - if applicable. Current college students with less than 30 credit hours must submit both high school and college transcripts; Applicant Proof of Service - if the applicant has their own military service: Statement of Good Service for active duty or Form DD214 for veteran; IRS Form 1040 for family - pages 1 and 2 only. If more than four dependents, also include the list of additional dependents; FAFSA Submission Summary - FAFSA Form Answers and Student Aid Index (SAI); Color Photograph; essay - a 325-word (maximum) essay.
