Find entry-level positions using job banks.

Job banks are websites where job seekers can search and apply for job openings online. Because most job seekers land jobs through networking, experts advise putting most of your effort into making personal contacts. However, entry-level jobs are frequently posted on job banks, so you may find opportunities there.

Look for a broad range of listing sources:

  • Job Listing services. Large-scale, national services such as Indeed, CareerBuilder, Monster, and others offer a look at employer needs in your area. Enter the term “entry level” to generate a list of jobs with minimal requirements. Visit Job Search.
  • Organization and company websites. Most organizations post job openings on their own websites under the categories Find a Job, Careers, or Employment Opportunities. Use the Business Finder to find an organization in your area, or do a general Internet search by company name or industry.
  • Professional association websites. Many associations link to industry-related job openings. Find professional associations listed by industry or occupation.
  • Talent communities.
