Practice Job Application Help
Learn more about the Practice Job Application.
What does this tool do?
The Practice Job Application is a tool to help you prepare to fill out job applications when you apply for jobs.
The Practice Job Application will ask you for information commonly required on most job applications. This is a good chance to find the information you will need so you’ll have it ready when you fill out a real job application. Some job application forms will ask for different information than this practice one, but it’s a good idea to be ready to answer these questions on any application you may want to complete.
How do I get started?
When you select “Get started” you’ll see a screen called Personal Contact Information. Get started by filling in the information. When you’ve filled in the information asked for on that page, select “Next” to see the next part of the practice application.
There are a total of 7 screens asking for information in the Practice Job Application. If you have no information to complete a section, such as military service, you may write "not available" for not applicable. You can always go back to the previous screen by selecting “Back.” When you select “Back” or “Next,” the application will save your answers. But please note that if you select “Start Over,” the application will delete all of the information you’ve entered since starting the practice job application.
Once you’ve answered all of the questions, you’ll come to a summary screen with all of your answers. Take a few minutes to review this information to make sure it’s correct. Then follow the directions to print or download your Practice Job Application answers—you can keep them to look at when you fill out real job applications in the future. While you will still need to enter your information in real job applications, you’ll save a lot of time by having your information in one place and already written out.
Can I change my answers while I’m filling out the Practice Job Application?
Yes, you can change any answer at any time. Just highlight your old answer and enter your new answer. To go back or forward to a new page, use the “Back” and “Next” buttons at the bottom of each page. Your information will be saved while you remain working in the practice job application.
