        Flight Navigator
        Certification Description
        The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Flight Navigator is a certificate for individuals who are responsible for locating the position of an aircraft and directs its course on domestic and international flights, using navigational aids. Flight Navigators are knowledgeable in the fundamentals of flight navigation, including flight planning and cruise control; practical meteorology, including analysis of weather maps, weather reports, and weather forecasts; the types of air navigation facilities and procedures in general use; calibrating and using air navigation instruments; navigation by dead reckoning; navigation by celestial means; navigation by radio aids; map reading; and interpretation of navigation aid identification signals. Candidates must meet training requirements. Candidates must pass a written and practical exam.
