Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Installer Mechanic
License Description
GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION Authorized to install system of air conditioning, warm air Heating and Ventilation, including startup of equipment and duct system necessary to make a complete system. EXAMINATION REQUIREMENTS Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age and been regularly and principally employed or engaged in the heating, ventilation and air conditioning trades under the direction and supervision of a HVAC Master Contractor for two (2) years and three thousand (3,000) hours as a registered Apprentice. Must pass the ""Limited Kentucky Journeyman Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Installer Mechanic"" examination. CONTINUING EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS (after licensure or certification) Each licensee shall complete ten (10) hours of continuing education approved by the Board prior to the annual renewal of license. SPECIAL COMMENTS or CONDITIONS Certain classroom or other education may be substituted for up to one (1) year and fifteen hundred (1,500) hours of experience subject to Board approval.
