Parachute Rigger
License Description There are two certifications, Senior Parachute Rigger and Master Parachute Rigger, and 4 ratings based on the type of parachute: seat, back, chest, and lap. To become certified as a Senior Parachute Rigger, the applicant must have packed at least 20 parachutes of the type being rated for then pass written, oral, and practical tests. To become certified as a Master Parachute Rigger, the applicant needs at least 3 years of experience packing parachutes and have packed at least 100 parachutes of each of two types being rated for. This certificate is valid until it is surrendered, suspended or revoked, although the individual must maintain current experience in order to work under the certification.
