Master - Upper Level
License Description To obtain a United States Coast Guard license as a Master - Upper Level requires 360 days service as Chief Mate on ocean Any Gross Tons steam or motor vessels; or 180 days as Chief Mate plus 360 days as Officer in Charge of a Navigational Watch (OIC). Other requirements include passing a written exam, a physical exam, and completion of a first aid course and a cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) course within the past 12 months.
