Offshore Installation Manager - OIM
License Description An Offshore Installation Manager (OIM) requires passing an exam and four years of related work experience or an approved degree in engineering or engineering technology and at least 168 days of related work experience. Specialized training in rig stability, oil well control or operation, firefighting and survival at sea are required. OIMs apply for an OIM Unrestricted License or one of four specialized licenses: OIM Surface Units on Location, OIM Surface Units Underway, OIM Bottom Bearing Units Underway, and OIM Bottom-Bearing Units on Location.
