Certified Journeyman Plumber
License Description Applicant must: be at least 16 years of age or possess a work permit; Be of good moral character; Be a U.S. citizen or provide verification that applicant is authorized to work in the U.S. as proven by the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Board; A journeyman's plumber or gas fitter applicant shall submit proof that the applicant has two (2) years of work experience as an apprentice plumber or gas fitter or has completed an apprentice training program approved by the board; A master plumber or gas fitter applicant shall submit proof that the applicant has one (1) year of work experience as an journeyman plumber or gas fitter; Applicants for journeyman plumber or gas fitter shall be examined, orally or in writing, upon the fundamentals of plumbing or gas fitting, the theory and practice of plumbing installation and construction or gas fitting work, and the experience and ability of the applicant in practical plumbing installation and construction or gas fitting work; Must possess sufficient education and/or experience as a registered apprentice to pass the journeyman examination.
