Interior Designer
License Description
Interior Designers plan, design, and furnish interiors of residential, commercial, or industrial buildings. They formulate design which is practical, aesthetic, and conducive to intended purposes, such as raising productivity, selling merchandise, or improving life style. They may specialize in a particular field, style, or phase of interior design. Requirements: 1) Must be of good moral character. 2) Must be a graduate of a five-year interior design program from an accredited institution, and must have completed at least one year of diversified and appropriate interior design experience. Or Must be a graduate of a four-year interior design program or a master's degree program in interior design from an accredited institution, and must have completed at least two years of diversified and appropriate interior design experience. Or Must be a licensed architect certified by the Board. 3) Must have passed the National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) examination. 4) Must complete an affidavit supplied by the Board attesting that he or she has read and understood the Registered Interior Designers Title Registration Act and Rules and Regulations. Examination required, Application for Registration by Examination (NCIDQ) fee: $250.00, Application for Individual Reciprocal Registration fee: $250.00, Annual Renewal of Individual Registration fee: $100.00
