Manuf. Home, Mobilehome, Commercial Modular Salesperson License
License Description
Required for all salespersons selling manufactured homes, mobile homes, or commercial modular structures. Fees: NOTE: Fees subject to change, Original Application: $219 for each applicant (two-year increments), plus $25 for the Manufactured Home Recovery fund from manufactured home/mobile home applicants; Renewal of License: $150. Verification of the applicant's U.S. citizenship or alien status has a one-time fee of $13 for each applicant (Not applicable to businesses owned under partnerships or corporations). Examination Frequency: Salespersons for manufactured homes, mobile homes or commercial modulars must pass an examination. The examination may be repeated as often as needed to pass; however, the $86 fee applies to each examination taken. A Study Guide is available at a cost of $29 at HCD's HQ office. The Study Guide is also available as a free download. Exam Locations: Riverside, Sacramento, El Cajon, San Luis Obispo Experience Requirement: Completion of six (6) hours preliminary education before examination and continuing education after licensure for manufactured home/multifamily manufactured home/mobile home applicants. Average Time to Process Application: Within one week of submittal of a complete application, a temporary permit may be issued allowing operation up to 120 days while the department investigates and processes the license. Renewal Period: Licenses will be issued for a two-year period expiring on the last day of the month in which the temporary permit or license was issued. Applications to renew licenses must be delivered to the department before the date of license expiration, or if mailed, must bear a postmark date on or before the expiration date.
