License Description A Respiratory Care Practitioner is a health care professional employed under the supervision of a medical director involved in the therapy, management, rehabilitation, diagnostic evaluation and care of patients with deficiencies and abnormalities which affect the pulmonary system, and associated aspects of cardiopulmonary and other systems functions. Fees: Application: $300 Once application is approved, the initial license is issued for a period of 13-24 months, depending upon the issuing month and an applicant's birth month. Renewal: $330 Examination Frequency: Daily computerized testing is available throughout California. Exam Locations: Arcadia, Bakersfield, Chino, Fresno, Glendale, Irvine, Long Beach, Modesto, Palm Sprints, Sacramento, San Diego, San Jose, Santa Maria, Stanton, and Upland. Experience Requirement: Students are required to complete clinical practice as part of their structured curriculum. Average Time to Process Application: 2-6 weeks. Renewal Period: 24 months.
