Tester's License
License Description
A person who tests milk, cream, or any fluid derivative of milk or cream for compositional analysis, which is purchased, received, or sold on the basis of milk fat which is contained in it, shall hold a tester's license. A separate license is required for each of the methods or processes of testing. Fees: Examination Application: $100; License Renewal: $100. Examination Frequency: Upon request. Exam Locations: At plant. Experience Requirement: Demonstrate by written, and oral and practical examination, the ability to condust specific type(s) of milk composition tests and comply with regulations on conducting such analyses. Average Time to Process Application: 60 days. Renewal Period: Biennially. Penalties apply when not renewed within statutory deadline. Authority: California Food and Agricultural Code, Sections 34261, 35161-35162, 35231 (a).
