All occupations directly connected with racing, such as owner, trainer, driver, jockey, jockey agent, racing official, association officer or director, veterinarian, pari-mutuel employee, valet, horseshoer, exercise rider, groom, stable employee, association employee, etc.

Examination Frequency: Varies by type of license.
Exam Locations: At track where live racing is in progress.
Experience Requirement: Experience and training levels set in California Code of Regulations, Title 4, Div. 4.
Average Time to Process Application: 1 hour.
Renewal Period: 3-year period expiring in birth month for all classes except grooms and stable employees which are 1-year period expiring December 31.
Special License Requirements: Veterinarians also must be licensed by the Veterinary Examiners Board.
