Funeral Director
License Description Persons who engage in, conducting, or offer to arrange, direct or supervise the transportation or burial or disposal of human remains. Also includes persons who maintain an establishment for the preparation for the transportation or disposition or for the care of human remains. Fees: Application: $190; Examination: $380; Renewal fee: $380 Examination Frequency: 6 days a weeks (outside vendor PSI). Exam Locations: 14 sites through out the State of California. Experience Requirement: Associate of arts or science degree, or the equivalent, or a higher level of education. Average Time to Process Application: 30 days. Renewal Period: Annually. Special License Requirements: Must be employed by or own a licensed funeral establishment in order to engage in the practice of a funeral director.
