License Description After successful completion of an educational program in mortuary science accredited by the American Board of Funeral Service Education (ABFS), an applicant is required to obtain a permit to complete the required apprenticeship training. In order to qualify for a permit, an applicant must arrange for the submission of the following documents directly to this office from the source: A completed application; An official transcript verifying the award of an associate's degree in mortuary science; Applicants earning a diploma (not an associate's degree) in mortuary science from an ABFS program must also arrange for the submission of verification of a baccalaureate degree transcript that documents a minimum of 6 semester hours or 9 trimester hours in the following content areas related to funeral service: business management, accounting, finance, merchandising, business law, computer applications, ethics, counseling, and psychology; Official report of the successful completion of the Arts and Sciences examinations of the Conference of Funeral Service Examining Boards (CFSEB) sent directly to this office;
