License Description Chapter 943, Florida Statutes; Rule 11A-B, Florida Administrative Code: An individual who is appointed or employed full-time by the state or any political subdivision thereof or by any private entity which has contracted with the state or county and whose primary responsibility is the supervision, protection, care, custody, and control of assigned inmates, probationers, parolees, or community controllees within institutions of the Department of Corrections.

Educational Requirements:

Graduation from high school or the equivalent degree and successful completion of a basic recruit training course. At least 40 hours continuing education are required every 4 years. Licensee must complete eight hours of human diversity training.
