Emergency Medical Technician
License Description DESCRIPTION OF OCCUPATION: An Emergency Medical Technician performs basic life support services to and transports sick or injured persons to medical facility, working as a member of an emergency medical team. REQUIREMENTS FOR LICENSING: Education requirements: Complete EMB training program. Complete didactic training in cardiac defibrillation and IV access in a State-approved EMT training program. Experience requirements: Complete 96 hours of clinical training experience obtained through a board-approved agency. Professional requirements Hold current EMP-B National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians certification. EXAMINATIONS: National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) exam for applicants who do not hold the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) certification. FEES: Between February 1, 2022 and January 31, 2023, pay $171 (application $20, certificate $32, ½ renewal $19, compliance resolution fund $100). Between February 1, 2023 and January 31, 2024, pay $102 (application $20, certificate $32, compliance resolution fund $50). OTHER: There were 874 licenses currently active as of February 24, 2022. ~ revised 10/16
