License Description DESCRIPTION OF OCCUPATION: A Real Estate Broker sells real estate, rents and manages properties, and manages and operates a real estate office. REQUIREMENTS FOR LICENSING: Personal requirements: 1) Be at least 18 years of age by the exam date. 2) Be a U.S. citizen, a U.S. national, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. by the exam date. 3) Possess a reputation for or record of competency, honesty, truthfulness, financial integrity and fair dealing. Professional requirements: Hold a current, unencumbered Hawaii real estate salesperson license or equivalent. Experience requirements: Have experience as a full-time Hawaii-licensed real estate salesperson for 3 years or equivalent. Education requirements: Complete the Commission-approved prelicense course given in Hawaii before the date of the exam or obtain a "Prelicensing Education Equivalency - Real Estate". EXAMINATIONS: Exam given by testing agency PSI Services, LLC. OTHER: There were 5,553 licenses currently active as of February 24, 2022. ~ revised 01/21
