Specialty Journeyman Electrician
License Description Specialty electricians must be licensed in Idaho and are only allowed to work in their area of specialization. Specialty licenses are available in the areas of: Elevator; Sign; Manufacturing/Assembling; Limited Energy; Irrigation Sprinkler; Well Driller/Pump Installer; Refrigeration, Heating & Air Conditioning; Outside Wireman (Lineman); and Photovoltaic (Solar) Installer. Specialty Journeyman Electrician must: 1.) Document a minimum of 4,000 hours of work experience as an Idaho Electrical Specialty Trainee; 2.) Submit an application with required documents and fees; 3.) Pass an exam. Term: Licenses are valid for three (3) years for specialty apprentices.
