HVAC Specialty Apprentice
License Description Specialty Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning (HVAC) workers must be licensed in Idaho and are only allowed to work in their area of specialization. Specialty licenses are available in the areas of: Hearth, Fuel Gas Piping, Waste Oil. Heating, and LP Limited Heating. HVAC Specialty Apprentices must: 1.) Be at least 18 years of age, or provide proof of registration with the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Apprenticeship Training certified HVAC program; 2.) Submit an application with required documents and fees; 3.) Be employed by a licensed HVAC Specialty Contractor; 4.) Work under the supervision of an HVAC Specialty Journeyman. Term: Licenses are valid for two (2) years for specialty apprentices.
