Apprentice Plumber
License Description Plumbers must be licensed by the state of Idaho. There are three certificates of competency available to plumbers in Idaho: apprentice registration, journeyman license, and contractor’s license. Apprentice plumber applicants must: 1.) Be at least 16 years of age; 2.) Be employed by a licensed plumbing contractor; 3.) Work under the constant supervision of a plumbing journeyman; 4.) Be enrolled in or have completed a related training program. Specialty licenses are available in the areas of: Appliance, Water Pump, and Mobile Home plumbing. Term: Registration is valid for 5 years or for 3 years for specialty apprentices.
