Professional Pesticide Applicator
License Description Idaho workers that use or supervise the use of agricultural chemicals or supply technical advice or recommendations regarding the use of agricultural pesticides need a Pesticide Applicators license. There are three types of licenses: Private Applicator, Professional Applicator and Dealer. A Professional Pesticide Applicator license is required for anyone who uses or provides technical advice, supervision, or recommendations to users of toxic pesticides. To become licensed as a Professional Applicator you must: 1.) Submit an application with required documents and fees; 2.) Provide proof of insurance; 3.) Pass an exam. Professional applicators may be certified in the following categories: Law and Safety; Agricultural Herbicide; Agricultural Insecticide/Fungicide; Aquatic Pest Control; Chemigation; Commodity Pest Control; Forest Environment; General Pest Control Operator; General Vertebrate Control; Livestock Pest Control; Ornamental Herbicide; Ornamental Insecticide/Fungicide; Potato Cellar Pest Control; Public Health Pest Control; Rodent Control; Right-of-Way Herbicide; Soil Fumigation; Structural Destroying Pests; Seed Treatment; Wood Preservative; Statewide Consultant; Demonstration and Research. Term: Licenses are valid for two years before renewal.
