Collection Agency Agents
License Description Collection agencies must be licensed by the Idaho Department of Finance. The agents who work for the collection agencies are registered on a quarterly basis. Credit counselors cannot operate in Idaho without obtaining a collection agency license. To be registered, agents must: 1.) Be an Idaho resident; 2.) Have no felony convictions; 3.) Have no outstanding bad debts; 4.) Pay a quarterly registration fee. Term: Licenses are renewed annually.
