Podiatrist
License Description In order to obtain a license to practice podiatric medicine in the state of Indiana, candidates must: Have a doctorate in podiatric medicine from a school or college approved by the Council on Podiatric Medical Education. Have completed at least 12 months of graduate podiatric medical training. Have not been convicted of a crime nor have been subject to disciplinary sanctions that would interfere with the ability to carry out professional duties. Have proper malpractice insurance. Pass successfully the board-administered examination. Pay all examination and application fees. Podiatrists must apply for a certificate as a supervising podiatrist in order to employ a podiatrist's assistant. Licenses for podiatrists can be renewed every four years while those for podiatrist's assistants are reviewed annually.
