License Description GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION Renders planning of outdoor space involving people, flora and fauna, and facilities, with emphasis on the function, preservation, restoration, and enhancement of the physical environment. Involves the preservation of the natural landscape ecology, by arranging land, water and the elements of safety, welfare and health of the public. EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS Graduate of an accredited landscape architecture curriculum approved by the board. EXAMINATION REQUIREMENTS Contact the regulatory agency for applications. The Landscape Architect Registration Examination (LARE) of the Council of Landscape Architectural Registration Boards is given in June and December. Examination fees are established each year. GENERAL INFORMATION for LICENSURE or CERTIFICATION Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age. Must have two (2) years of professional landscape experience satisfactory to the Board. License must be renewed annually at a fee of $150.00. Kentucky has reciprocity agreements with other states. CONTINUING EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS (after licensure or certification) Fifteen (15) hours of continuing education is required annually.
