License Description GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION A specialist in the science or art of applying the principles of nutrition to feeding. EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS In order to be certified as a dietitian, a person shall have earned a baccalaureate degree from a college or university which is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Universities or an accrediting agency recognized by the Southern Association of Colleges and Universities. Must have successfully completed one (1) of the accredited experience options established by the commission on dietetic registration, which includes completion of an accredited coordinated undergraduate program, an accredited dietetic internship, an approved three (3) year pre-planned work experience, or a masters degree in nutrition with six (6) months experience. EXAMINATION REQUIREMENTS Present application to the board of certification on forms provided by the regulatory agency.
