License Description GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION Occupational therapy means the use of goal-directed activities with individuals who are limited by physical limitations due to injury or illness, psychiatric and emotional disorders, developmental or learning disabilities, poverty and cultural differences or the aging process, in order to maximize independence, prevent disability and maintain health. EDUCATIONAL and EXAMINATION REQUIREMENTS Educational and examination requirements are set by the American Occupational Therapy Certification Board. GENERAL INFORMATION for LICENSURE or CERTIFICATION An applicant needs to send the appropriate application, fee, and other required materials to the regulatory agency. The license is renewable by June 30 annually at a fee of $50.00.
