License Description
GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION Audiologist must be knowledgeable in the application of principles and procedures of measurement, testing, appraisal, prediction, consultation, and counseling related to hearing and disorders of hearing. EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS Possess at least a master's degree in the area of audiology. Submit official transcript from an educational institution approved by the Board, evidencing the successful completion of at least sixty (60) hours of courses related to speech, hearing and language and courses that provide training information. EXAMINATION REQUIREMENTS The Board will determine examination requirements on an individual basis. The Board waives the examination and grants license to those who hold the certification of clinical competence of the American Speech and Hearing Association. $25.00 application fee and $50.00 licensure fee, the latter being refundable if not approved. GENERAL INFORMATION for LICENSURE or CERTIFICATION Every applicant must be at least eighteen (18) years of age. You must be a citizen of the United States. You must be of good moral character. You must present evidence, from a licensed or certified audiologist supervisor for a period of nine (9) months in full-time professional employment. For additional information on work-experience requirements, contact the regulatory agency. Licenses are renewed annually, with a $25.00 fee. CONTINUING EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS (after licensure or certification) Fifteen (15) hours annually. Twenty-five (25) annually for those with dual licensure.
