License Description
GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION Manager Level - supervises employees and coordinates the administration of all programs and services for a major environmental health program branch. Inspector Level - performs inspections, collects data and collects samples relative to enforcement activities in the field of environmental health and other related work. EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS You must have completed a four (4) year degree from a college or university, with a minor or twenty-four (24) semester hours in environmental health, biological science, or physical science. EXAMINATION REQUIREMENTS You must submit application forms which have been prepared by the Registered Sanitarian Examining Committee along with college transcript to the regulatory agency. Examinations are scheduled a minimum of four (4) times a year. Type examination; written. You must score 70% or more. Examination fee is $30.00. Should you fail, submit request for retake to regulatory agency along with $30.00 examination fee. GENERAL INFORMATION for LICENSURE or CERTIFICATION There are no age, residency or health requirements. You must be of good moral character. License renewal fee is $12.00. Contact the regulatory agency regarding reciprocity. CONTINUING EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS (after licensure or certification) You must obtain a minimum of ten (10) classroom hours of education for renewal effective with July 1994 renewals. SPECIAL COMMENTS or CONDITIONS Registration is a condition of employment for local and state health departments in the field of environmental health.
