License Description
GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION Applies chemicals to the land of others for a fee to combat pesticide problems. Must have a thorough knowledge of chemicals, spray nozzles, drift problems and the comprehension of labels and their significance. EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS No formal educational requirements are necessary, however, applicant must study and have knowledge of materials supplied by the regulatory agency in preparation for the examination. EXAMINATION REQUIREMENTS To secure an application, contact the regulatory agency. Examinations are scheduled in groups or by appointment, as determined by the regulatory agency. The exam is a combination of multiple choice and true / false. Applicant must score at least 70%. There is no examination fee. Should you fail the examination, contact the regulatory agency for retake procedures. GENERAL INFORMATION for LICENSURE or CERTIFICATION Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age. There are no residence, health or work experience requirements. License are renewed annually, by December 31. License renewed after March 31 require a 25% penalty. You must be retested if you do not renew by June 1. To secure information concerning reciprocity, contact the regulatory agency. CONTINUING EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS (after licensure or certification) Attendance at two (2) approved meetings, within five (5) years, for recertification without re-testing if applicant applies Restricted-Use Pesticides.
