License Description GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION Negotiates sale of ""wood destroying organisms"" and ""structural fumigations,"" subcategories of the ""Industrial, Institutional, Structural and Health-Related Pest Control"" category. Must be able to hold training courses for employees. EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS Must have two (2) years experience with a pest control company. Must be familiar with the laws and regulations set forth by the Kentucky Department of Agriculture. Must be knowledgeable of minimum standards of all categories. Must be able to identify specimen. EXAMINATION REQUIREMENTS Contact the regulatory agency for application. Examinations are scheduled for the Second Tuesday during May and November, unless the Second Tuesday is a holiday or falls on election day. Should this occur, the examination will be given on the Third Tuesday. The examination is a multiple-choice type, with a score required of at least 70%. The identification portion of the examination also requires a passing score of 70% or more. There is a $50.00 examination fee. Should you not pass the examination, contact the regulatory agency for retake information. GENERAL INFORMATION for LICENSURE or CERTIFICATION Applicant must be at least eighteen (18) years of age. There are no residency or health requirements. Applicant must be honest, truthful, trustworthy and of a good reputation. Must have had at least two (2) years work experience, employed with a licensed Structural Pest Control applicator, or have a degree in Entomology. Contact the regulatory agency regarding reciprocity with other states. CONTINUING EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS (after licensure or certification) Must attend at least two (2) training courses within five (5) year period to maintain certification.
