Mining, Electrical Worker
License Description GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION Performs electrical work on all mining machinery both surface and underground mine operations. Maintain and repair all electrical circuits. EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS Must have at least one (1) year experience electrical work on surface mines, in underground mines, mine equipment manufacturing industry or in any other industry, using or manufacturing similar equipment. There are no minimum educational requirements for this occupation. EXAMINATION REQUIREMENTS Contact the regulatory agency for application and procedures. Time and location of examinations determined by the instructor. Written six (6) part examination with 80% passing grade on all subjects. Should you fail, retake required on all subjects with a grade less than 80%. Retake must be within thirty (30) days. GENERAL INFORMATION for LICENSURE or CERTIFICATION For age, residency, physical condition, moral character and work experience, contact the regulatory agency for specific details. Must be conscientious and trustworthy to ensure safety of self and fellow employees. Electrical workers certification will be issued by Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) and the Kentucky Department of Mines and Minerals. CONTINUING EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS (after licensure or certification) Annual retraining is required in order to retain certification. Contact the regulatory agency for further details.
