License Description GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION Samples and weighs or measures raw farm milk to properly determine the compensation to be received by milk producers from milk buyers. EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS A one-day training school must be attended before licensing. Training school is offered quarterly at Bowling Green and Lexington. EXAMINATION REQUIREMENTS Contact the regulatory agency or milk buyers for applications. Written examination is given [at the training school] by Regulatory Agency. A minimum score of 70% is required for licensure. The examination fee is $7.00. Should you fail the examination, you must reapply, pay the examination fee and re-attend the training school.] GENERAL INFORMATION for LICENSURE or CERTIFICATION There are no age or residency requirements. Licenses expire June 30 annually, with the renewal fee being $7.00. Kentucky has no formal reciprocity agreement with any other state. CONTINUING EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS (after licensure or certification) If job performance is deficient, Regulatory Agency may require re-attendance at a training school.
