Certified Water Well Driller
License Description GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION By the use of drill rigs or other drilling devices to construct water wells or monitoring wells. EXAMINATION REQUIREMENTS Each driller is required to take and pass with a minimum score of 70%, three (3) different tests. One test is for general knowledge of drilling practices, geology and hydrology. The second tests the driller on knowledge of the type of drill rig that will be used. The final test is for monitoring well construction or water well construction. GENERAL INFORMATION for LICENSURE or CERTIFICATION Must have worked for two (2) years under the supervision of a certified well driller or other suitable experience or education as determined by the regulatory agency. To retain certification must comply with the minimum standards for location, construction and modification of water wells. CONTINUING EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS (after licensure or certification) Must complete and submit documentation certifying completion of three (3) hours of training for certificate renewal. Must be renewed by July 1 of each successive year. SPECIAL COMMENTS or CONDITIONS Non-renewal of the certificate for two (2) successive years may not again be renewed without retesting.
