Many cities and counties in Minnesota have business licensing requirements for massage therapy. Contact the city and county of where you will be providing services to check for business licensing requirements. The state does not license massage therapy.

Minn. Stat., Chapter 146A does the following:

• sets out a statutory definition of complementary and alternative health care practice; 
  
• requires all CAP providers to provide each client with a client bill of rights;
  
• sets out prohibited acts for CAP providers;
