Audiology/Speech-Language Pathology Assistant
License Description
Occupational Description
Audiology or Speech-Language Pathology Assistants, following specified training and receiving specified supervision, provide specified limited, structured communication or swallowing services, which are developed and supervised by a licensed Audiologist or Speech-Language Pathologist, in the areas in which the supervisor holds license(s).
Licensure Requirements
Applicants must: 1. Meet one of the following: A. Have a bachelor's degree from an accredited training program in communication disorders; -OR- B. Have an associate's degree from an accredited training program in communication disorders; -OR- C. Have received professional education that is equivalent to an associate's degree or a bachelor's degree. The equivalent coursework meets the requirements outlined in Neb Rev Stat. §38-521. 2. Have reached the age of majority; 3. Be either a citizen of the United States, an alien lawfully admitted into the United States who is eligible for a credential under the Uniform Credentialing Act, or a nonimmigrant who is lawfully present in the United States and who is eligible for a credential under the Uniform Credentialing Act 4. If the applicant havs been convicted of a misdemeanor or felony, he or she must submit the required documentation listed in Section C of the application.
Fees
Audiology/Speech-Language Pathology Assistant License Fee- $60.00
Renewal
Licenses expire one year from date of issuance. The renewal fee is $60.00. Ten hours of in-service training are required every year for active status in order to qualify for renewal.
