License Description

Occupational Description


Fire Alarm Inspectors inspect fire alarm systems to ensure that they are working properly and in compliance with both state and local building codes and regulations.

Licensure Requirements


Applicants must be at least 19 years of age, and either: 1. Take and pass an exam of their technical knowledge and ability to inspect fire alarm systems with a score of 80% or higher; -OR- 2. Present a copy of the NICET certificate Level II with their application.

Fees


Examination & License- $100.00 With NICET II- $25.00 per year that certificate is valid.

Renewal


Remewal is required every 4 years. If the initial license was originally obtained by method of examination, license must be renewed in four years by successfully completing the test ($100.00 fee) -OR- presenting NICET certification Level II and corresponding fee ($25.00/year). If the initial license was originally obtained by NICET Certificate Level II, applicant must either successfully complete the examination ($100.00 fee) or present NEW NICET II certificate and appropriate fee ($25.00/year).
