Trailer-Only Dealer
License Description
Occupational Description
A Trailer Dealer license is required to actively engage in the business of selling or exchanging new or used commercial trailers and/or semitrailers with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) of more than 9,000 pounds. A Trailer Dealer license is also required to sell manufactured homes. A Trailer Dealer license is not required to sell trailers with a GVW of 9,000 pounds or fewer (utility trailers).
Licensure Requirements
Applicants must:1. Be at least 19 years of age;2. The place of business must be zoned properly for that type of business with contiguous space for at least 10 trailers to be parked/displayed;3. The Trailer Dealer must have office space, a sign in the name of the dealership, and a telephone number listed in the dealership's name.4. A Trailer Dealer's license requires: A. $50,000 corporate surety bond; B. Either workers compensation insurance or a workers compensation waiver form if applicable. Conviction of a felony may be grounds for denial of the license application.

Renewal
Renewal is required annually. The renewal fee is $250.
