Occupational Description A Bill or Account Collector is defined as a solicitor who is actively engaged in the solicitation of accounts for collection and/or collection of such accounts once referred or assigned to a collection agency licensed to conduct business in Nebraska. It excludes employees engaged solely in office clerical work for an agency. Collection agency means and includes:(a) All persons, firms, corporations, and associations directly or indirectly engaged in soliciting, from more than one person, firm, corporation, or association, claims of any kind owed or due or asserted to be owed or due such solicited person, firm, corporation, or association, and all persons, firms, corporations, and associations directly or indirectly engaged in asserting, enforcing, or prosecuting such claims;(b) Any person, firm, corporation, or association which, in attempting to collect or in collecting his, her, or its own accounts or claims, uses a fictitious name or any name other than his, her, or its own name which would indicate to the debtor that a third person is collecting or attempting to collect such account or claim.
Licensure Requirements New applicants must apply through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) web portal at https://mortgage.nationwidelicensingsystem.org/Pages/default.aspxApplicants must:1. Submit an application for collection agency license;2. Submit an Officer's Interrogatory form;3. Submit a Financial Statement form;4. Submit an Oath of Applicant form;5. Pay required collection agency license bond & licensefees.

Initial Branch Office Certificate- $50.00
Solicitor's Certificate- $1.00
Renewal Renewal due date is now 12/31 of each year. |
