License Description
Occupational Description
A person licensed to plan, layout and install electrical wiring, apparatus and equipment for only those components on an Sign, Irrigation System or HVAC System.
Licensure Requirements
Applicants must have at least two years experience acceptable to the Board in planning, layout and installing signs, irrigation systems and HVAC equipment, and be registered as an apprentice working under a Licensed Sign Installer or a Licensed Irrigation Installer or a Licensed HVAC Installer for two years.These exams were reintroduced in 2023
Fees
$25.00 in even-numbered years; $50.00 in odd-numbered years.
Renewal
All licenses expire on December 31 of even-numbered years.In order to renew any license, the holder must provide a certificate for proof of attendance of at least 12-hours of continuing education approved by the State Electrical Board, with at least six of these hours on the National Electrical Code.
