Osteopathic Physician
License Description In addition to passing all parts of the State Board examination (or an equivalent exam as determined by the Board), applicants must have: 1) Graduated from an approved school of osteopathic medicine. 2a) Completed 3 years of postgraduate education as a resident in the U.S. or Canada in a program approved by the Board, the Bureau of Professional Education of the American Osteopathic Association or by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education; or b) Completed 24 months of approved postgraduate training in Nevada as a resident and have committed in writing to completing the program. 3) Provide fingerprints for a background check. 4) Provide verification of their credentials through the Federation Credentials Verification Service (FCVS). Contact the Board for information on special licensure for postgraduate study as a resident or intern physician, or for information on licensure by endorsement. Fees may be subject to change. Fees are: application and initial license--$600; fingerprint cards - $70; annual license renewal--$450; special license--$200.
