Architect
License Description Applicants for registration must: 1) Be at least 21 years old and of good moral character, 2) Have a professional degree from a NAAB-accredited architect program, 3) Complete the NCARB Intern Development Program (IDP), 4) Pass a national examination (Architect Registration Examination). Or, have met the requirements listed below (same as those registering by reciprocity.) Reciprocity: Applicants who are registered architects in another state may apply for registration by reciprocity. They must: 1) Have a certificate from the National Council of Architectural Registration Board (NCARB), 2) Have successfully completed all portions of the NCARB exams administered by NCARB standards at the date of their initial registration, and 3) Have fulfilled the seismic requirement by exam or a seismic treatise submitted to another western state. Fees may be subject to change. Fees are: application--$25; application processing (registration by exam) - $50; reciprocal application processing--$300; ARE exam (administered by NCARB) -- $210 per division, entire (7 parts) -- $1,470; certificate of registration--$125; annual registration--$150; IDP--$350 (set by NCARB); stamp--$25.
