Registered Interior Designer
License Description Interior designers may apply for registration in Nevada, however, in order to do interior design of commercial spaces, designers must be registered. To qualify for a certificate to practice as a Registered Interior Designer, an applicant must: 1) Have successfully completed a program of interior design accredited by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA) or a substantially equivalent program approved by the Board. 2) Have at least 2 years of experience* in interior design, and 3a) Pass the National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) exam (October 2000 or later); or 3b) Pass any prior version of the NCIDQ and the Nevada Supplemental Examination for Registered Interior Designers. *Note: Applicants may gain the required experience through the Interior Design Experience Program (IDEP). IDEP is a monitored, documented experience program administered by the NCIDQ for graduates of interior design education programs. Fees may be subject to change. Fees are: application-$25; NCIDQ exam application review - $210; NCIDQ exam (3 parts) - $210; Nevada Supplemental Exam - $100; certificate of registration - $125; annual renewal - $150; non-CIDA education evaluation (to determine substantial equivalency)--$300; stamp--$25.
