Speech Pathologist
License Description Speech pathologists practicing in the state must be licensed through the Board. Those persons working in the school districts must be licensed through the Department of Education and are not required to maintain the state licensure, however, if they also work outside of the schools, both would be required. Applicants must: 1) Be of good moral character. 2) Have a master's degree or higher in Speech Pathology from an accredited college (official transcripts required) or possess equivalent training and experience as determined by the Board. 3) Hold current American Speech-Language & Hearing Association (ASHA) certification. For more information on the requirements or on special licenses (temporary, provisional and limited) visit the Board website. Fees may be subject to change. Fees are: initial application/license--$250; annual license renewal--$100.
