License Description Applicants must: 1) Have a degree in pharmacy from a school accredited by the Am. Council on Pharmaceutical Education and approved by the board. 2) Have 1,740 internship hours under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist (to fulfill this requirement you must register as an intern pharmacist and meet the state board requirements). 3) Pass a state board and a national examination (NAPLEX and MPJE)*. Reciprocity: Applicants may reciprocate from another state but must take the State Board examination. (Those reciprocating from California must have taken the NAPLEX exam.) Graduates from foreign schools must pass the FPGEC, TOFEL and TSE exams before taking the national and state exams. *Notes: NAPLEX = No. American Pharmacist Licensure Exam; MPJE = Multistate Pharmacy Jurisprudence Exam. Fees may be subject to change. Fees are: application (includes registration) --$330; examination--$680 (paid to NABP); reciprocity--$330; license renewal--$180; intern application-- $40.
