Bail Enforcement Agent
License Description Applicants must: 1) Be at least 21 years old. 2) Have a high school diploma, GED or equivalent. 3) Have completed 80 hours of bail enforcement agent training approved by the Commissioner. 4) Have First Aid in Emergencies and CPR Certification. 5) Provide the results of a drug test, taken within 30 days of the application and administered by a certified lab. 6) Provide the results of a psychological exam conducted by a psychiatrist or psychologist licensed in Nevada (the results must show no conditions that would adversely affect your ability to be a Bail Enforcement Agent). 7) Pass the Nevada Bail Exam administered by Pearson VUE. 8) Submit 2 fingerprint cards for the Division to obtain a criminal history report. 9) Not have been convicted of a felony in Nevada (or an offense in another state that would be a felony in Nevada) or have been convicted of an offense involving moral turpitude or the illegal use, sale, or possession of a controlled substance. Notes: An applicant who is employed by a licensed bail agent may apply for a temporary license while completing the 80 hour training requirement. A temporary license is valid until the training is completed or up to 9 months, whichever is sooner. Visit the Division website for more information on the licensing requirements. Fees may be subject to change. Fees are: examination--$90; licensing--$185 (triennial); business/agency affiliation--$50; fingerprinting--$37.50 (payable to Department of Public Safety) or $55.25 (electronic by Pearson VUE).
