Mobile Crane and Tower Crane Operators
License Description
Certification is required to operate tower cranes or mobile cranes having a boom length of 25 feet or greater, or a maximum machine rated capacity of 15,000 pounds or greater. Crane operators must be certified to operate the type of crane they are using. The certification must: 1) Be issued by an organization whose program of certification meets the criteria established by the Division and is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies, or an equivalent accrediting body approved by the Division. 2) Certify that the applicant has met the standards to be a crane operator established by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (standards B30.3, B30.4, or B30.5). Fees: Fees will vary by training provider/certifying organization used. Contact the Division for more information.
