Psychologist - School
License Description Psychologists employed in schools must obtain an endorsement from the Department of Education. (Private practice psychologists must be licensed through the Board of Psychological Examiners. Requirements for private practice psychologists are listed separately.) To qualify for an endorsement to serve as a school psychologist, a person must: 1) Hold a graduate degree from an accredited college or university with a concentration in school psychology and; 2) Have successfully completed the course work and earned the graduate credits required by the Department and; 3) Have completed an internship in school psychology as outlined in the Department's practicum requirements. Or, a person must: 4) Hold a certificate as a nationally certified school psychologist issued by the National School Psychology Certification System of the National Association of School Psychologists, or 5) Have completed a program approved by the Department which prepares a person to be a school psychologist. Fees are subject to change. The initial application fee is $161.
